Why I Love Wonderful Pistachios

We’ve always been a regular snacker when it comes to Wonderful Pistachios. Packed with fiber and protein instead of sugar, pistachios keep you full for longer and contain heart-healthy goodness. Even better, removing the shells takes a little time, so you savor every moment instead of swallowing handfuls at a time. Easily done.

Pistachios are a healthy holiday snack

Perfect for Snacking and Baking Alike

Regular readers know I love to bake, and I must admit, it’s been too long since I made something with a sprinkle of pistachios on top! Although I love Wonderful Pistachios Roasted & Salted for simple snacking, Wonderful Pistachios Roasted No Salt make the perfect colorful topping for brownies, cakes and sweet pies.

Wonderful Pistachios are dry roasted with no added oil. They are also Non-GMO Project Verified, Gluten-Free, Kosher certified, Halal certified, and vegan! With the Twins being gluten intolerant I’m always excited to find snacks they can enjoy! Holidays are particularly difficult to navigate when it comes to gluten intolerance because parties and gatherings are always full of carbs!

The Perfect Stocking Stuffer

My kids really enjoy cracking open the shells, and it’s great to see them opting for a snack I feel good about them eating this Holiday season. Santa likes to fill the kids’ stocking with an equal mix of edible treats and toys/socks etc. Clementines are classic and will always make an appearance, but a bag of pistachios is a great way to add something delicious to the celebration!

The Season of Giving

What makes one of my fave snacks even better this Holiday Season? Feeling good about contributing to a fabulous cause! Wonderful Pistachios, will be donating $.10/unit for Wonderful Pistachios Roasted & Salted and Wonderful Pistachios Roasted No Salt sold at Walmart up to $100k. The donations will be going to Toys for Tots, who aim to ‘Bring the Joy of Christmas to Less Fortunate Children’. The collection period will run from November 1 – December 24, 2019.

I feel great about this cause! Toys for Tots allow families to donate and request toys so every child can enjoy the Holiday magic. I know how lucky we are to be able to buy our three kids’ lovely gifts are Christmas, but not everyone has the means for the extra spend. Children don’t understand why Santa didn’t visit, and I can’t imagine having to try and explain this to my own kids. Well done Toys for Tots for bringing smiles to children this Holiday, and well done Walmart and Wonderful Pistachios for doing your part.

Wonderful Pistachios from Walmart

Next time you head to Walmart, pick up some Wonderful Pistachios and feel good about your family’s health and contribution to a great cause. I must say, this post is making me feel very festive!

Scientific evidence suggests but does not prove that eating 1.5 ounces per day of most nuts, such as pistachios, as part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol may reduce the risk of heart disease. See nutritional information for fat content.
