This time of year is not just for Holiday festivities. As the college football season draws to a close, I’m sharing a tailgate recipe perfect for the College Football Playoff. I’m pairing my cherry chutney pork sliders with Dr Pepper® for the ultimate college football party recipe! Whether you choose fresh or frozen cherries, these sliders are just as delicious all year round.
Cherry Chutney Pork Slider Ingredients
I recommend making your cherry chutney in advance. It will keep for a couple of weeks in the fridge and will be ready to take along for Tailgator parties to bring something new to the table.
The pork patties themselves are very simple. I added a little cayenne because the spicy/sweet mix of the patty and chutney is delicious. You could fire them up further with some chili flakes or omit the cayenne altogether if you don’t like spice. Either way, you will have a great savory accompaniment for your sweet cherry chutney.
I used frozen cherries which are available all year. When using frozen you’ll find the chutney contains more liquid which needs reducing, but other than that there is little difference with fresh.
Matching Your Tailgate Party Beverages
Dr Pepper is the official drink of college football fans and has been part of college football for 25 years. it makes the perfect match for these cherry chutney sliders! Just like the chutney, Dr Pepper has a rich, indulgent, one of a kind flavor… and for cherry lovers everywhere it’s got to be Dr Pepper Cherry that washes down your pork slider.
There are 23 flavors that make up the unique taste of Dr pepper and it’s the perfect party beverage!
