I love a bit of DIY kids decor, and I’m a self-confessed Pinterest addict. Regular readers know I share my own projects here at Twin Pickle, and I have one for our playroom on the go right now! Because these things take a while, especially when you have three young kids, I’ve been talking to my fellow bloggers to find out what they’ve been up to this year. What awesome projects have DIY/Interior bloggers come up with in 2017 for their kiddos? Here are my some of my faves…
I had all sorts of plans to bring you recipes for New Year’s Eve, but I’m not entirely sure what happened to December. Therefore, this will likely be my last post of the year and I’m excited to share some fab ideas. All these blogger projects were published in 2017, it’s been a busy year for all… Be inspired, visit some other blogs and have a wonderfully creative New Year!
Flower Wall Hanging
I’m giving my first shout out to Thalita… not only a blogging goddess over at ‘The Learner Observer’, she’s also a mom of twin boys like me! Thalita created this wall hanging for her dining room, but I think it would make the perfect addition to a little girls room. Find the tutorial here.
PVC Pipe Play Tent
Stephanie blogs at ‘Abbotts at Home‘ and explains exactly how to build this awesome DIY tent using PVC plumbers piping. So clever, and it also looks relatively spacious, just in case you have more than one sprog to squeeze in there… Find the tutorial here.
DIY Kids Decor Ribbon mobile
Laura Kate of ‘Lady and Laura Kate‘ created this adorable and but simple mobile for her daughter’s room. I think it looks beautiful and there are endless possibilities with colors and textures when it comes to ribbon. Get the tutorial here.
IKEA Hack Lego Table
Vineta from ‘The Handyman’s Daughter‘ has had over 300K views of her facebook video for this cute playroom IKEA hack! It’s super simple and those little IKEA tables are nice and affordable. Find the tutorial here.
Upcycled Decor Nursey
Lora from ‘Creativity Designs‘ is full of great ideas for upcycling salvaged decor for her little girl’s room. Keeping it frugal with adorable little frames and a macrame wall hanging, this boho nursery looks fab. See the full room reveal here.
Big Boy Room ‘Command Center’
Similarly to us, Rochelle from ‘Five Marigolds‘ has been having fun with her son’s big boy room! I love the idea of using these crib springs as an industrial feel notice board. I need to get involved in some of this upcycling action! See the full room reveal here.
Stenciled Kids Wall Art
Linsay from ‘See Linsay‘ offers a free download of this gorgeous monster design, perfect for DIY kids decor. She’s using her Cricut Explore to perfectly cut out the template, making a cute stencil for this farmhouse style wall art. Find the full tutorial here.
Simple Fabric Circles
Cardboard, fabric, scissors, and glue… you don’t need to get fancy to create the perfect DIY kids decor! Jen from ‘The Search for Imperfection‘ has created these wall panels to match her little one’s quilt. See more of the room and find the full tutorial here.
$100 Room Makeover Challenge
Maria from ‘House by the Preserve‘ joined a $100 room challenge to transform her boy’s nursery into a big boy room. She upcycled a bigger bed into a toddler bed on castors and went for a nautical look with the bedding and decor. Totally cute… see more pictures here.
I hope you’re as impressed as I am with these guys?! And I must give a shoutout to my fave personal DIY kids decor project… the Twins’ adventure theme room reveal. I can’t wait to get stuck into more projects next year, don’t forget to keep a look out for our upcoming playroom post!
So many great ideas!! Thank you for including my boho nursery 🙂
Thanks so much Lora, I love it!
