27 Awesome Toys for Twin Toddlers 2023

Spread the love

If you’re looking for the perfect toys for twin toddlers or young siblings, always consider ways to promote a sharing mentality. Twin toddlers don’t always like to share their toys, and it’s a steep learning curve for all involved!

The moment my boys turned one they began to fight over toys, and I now choose their toys carefully to help them learn and play together. Give parents a break and make their life easier by choosing toys that promote good behavior. Sharing literally is caring when it comes to twins!

How to Shop Toys for Twin Toddlers and Young Siblings:

Whether you’re buying one present between them, or a present each, twins will always want to play with the other ones’ toy. So, you have a few options:

  • Buy two of everything and watch them fight over one of them anyway;
  • Assign them each their own toys and optimistically try to teach them about sharing and being kind to each other;
  • Buy toys they can use to play together. No fighting, it’s actually MORE fun to get along and share.

I would recommend the latter choice. Buy toys for twin toddlers that encourage sharing and interactive play. Those are best toys anyway aren’t they?

The Best Toys for Twin Toddlers and Young Siblings:

Once mobile, toddlers are full on energy! Give them something they can chase each other through, play sport with or jump about on and you’re sure to be on to a winner!

Kiddey Children’s Dual Play Tent with Tunnel

Play tent with tunnel toys for twin toddlers

It’s big but it’s awesome. It does break down into pieces too, so you don’t have to have the whole thing out at once if you want to still access the rest of your house. My twin boys have a similar set up from IKEA and they love chasing each other though it. Not everyone has an IKEA at hand, so if Amazon is your thing I’m certain the Kiddey Children’s Dual Play Tent will be a hit!

Play tents make a fantastic gift for twins. For more tents, check out my post: Top 10 Picks for Indoor Play Tents!

LeapFrog Learn & Groove Musical Mat

I have seen kids play together with something similar in an indoor play park. They love giggling over the sounds together – it is definitely more fun with two! One Amazon reviewer says her two young children love the Learn & Groove Matbecause sharing is out of the question for them.” The twin mom struggle is real.

Little Tikes Basketball Set

Shooting hoops is always fun when you have a playmate. Luckily, the Little Tikes Basketball set comes with multiple balls… mine fight over balls all the time!

Some toys are already offered in pairs, offering immediate coordination and a little money saving along the way!

John Deere Sandbox Vehicle 2 Pack

One digger, one dump truck. The perfect combo for some shared time in the sandbox! These John Deere Sandbox Trucks will also be a hit with little ones. Timeless classics!

TECJOE LCD Writing Tablet 2-Pack

These drawing/writing tablets are not electronic screens, they are magnet drawing devices and are the most amazing value for money. All three of my kids have played with these for years, from scribbling as toddlers so playing tic-tac-toe as 6-year-olds. They are suggested for 3yrs and up but I suspect most 2 yr-olds would love them too. For under $10 it’s a steal!

Role Play Toys & Dress Up

My boys play best together when they are in role-play mode. Whether it’s cooking each other lunch, playing doctor or going grocery shopping, they always have the best time. I’m a big believer that kids learn everything from this kind of play, it’s so important!

TOPTIE 4 Sets Kids’ Role Play Costume

The only thing you have to be careful with when it comes to role play roles is… make sure there are two separate roles to play. With this dress up set, there are four costumes to pick from, and the doctor and surgeon outfits make for a great game together!

If you are looking for some creative ideas for Halloween dress-up, head over to my post for coordinated costumes for twins.

Little Tikes® 2-in-1 Café Cart Playset

Restaurant/food truck set ups work great, because there are two sides, one for the customer and one for the server. This set looks sturdy and great for little ones and I feel like both sides would enjoy!

A fabulous toy for role play but also really educational if you want to use it for sorting colors! The Farmer’s Market Color Sorting Set is a win win!

Melissa & Doug Examine & Treat Pet Vet Play Set

Both kids can be the vet at once with this Melissa & Doug Examine Set because there are two little animals to treat and plenty of bits and bobs to go with. Plus, this would double as a great doctor/patient kit.

Bath Toys for Twins

I don’t know why, but my twin boys share toys better in the bath. Is it the toys themselves of the bath environment? I have no idea. But I do that all toddlers love bath toys!

 Foam Bath Letters

I was given foam bath letters when my daughter was little and they were such a fantastic tool for teaching her the alphabet and how to read. The Twins now have the same, and they’ve been perfect for our speech therapy homework. They absolutely love them and there is plenty to share between the two of them.

SMALL FISH Stacking Cups Bath Toys for Toddlers

With plenty of cups to share, this adorable set of stacking bath cups will allow plenty of bath time fun. Mine do enjoy pouring water over each others’ head which has varying responses, ha!

CoComelon Water Squirter Toys

CocoMelon…You know they love it! This cute set of baby shark toys is perfect for a bath time sing along!

Activity Centers & Tables

Manhattan Toy Tree Top Adventure Activity Center

My boys love bead mazes! We have a smaller bead maze which is great for individual play occasionally Arthur decides he wants it to himself and tips the whole thing over. The Manhattan Toy Activity Center is bigger and more solid. Great for two kids at once.

Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Around The Town Learning Table

If your twins are just starting to stand and are 1-2yrs, this Fisher-Price Learning Table is perfect! My boys really enjoyed pulling themselves up and pressing all the buttons.

Step2 Rain Showers Splash Pond Water Table

In case you’re in the market for some summer fun, check out the Finding Dory Swim & Swirl Table. Water play is one of those activities that is more fun when you have someone to splash, and there’s plenty of space to move around it without getting in each other’s way.

Step2 Dino Dig Sand & Water Table

From water to sand, I am loving this adorable Dino sand table! My boys would go crazy for this one for sure!

Fisher-Price Little People Sit ‘n Stand Skyway

Fisher Price Skyway perfect toy for twin toddlers

It’s a classic and still going strong… long live the Fisher Price ramp. Who doesn’t love to run cars down ramps? This one is perfect for two kids to play together because it has too ramps!

My boys have this one, it’s a little fiddly to put together but once finished it flips from a low level wider ramp for sitting height and a high, standing level tower. We swap it over every now and again and the novelty starts all over again!

Creative & Fine Motor Skill Toys

This type of toy will always be my favorite. They last for a much wider age group, are educational, and fun for adults to play along with too!

LEGO DUPLO Classic Deluxe Brick Box Starter Set

It’s a timeless classic… everyone loves Duplo. I would recommend a big box of classic blocks over a fancy school bus or the like. My boys have my daughter’s hand-me-down Duplo airplane and they fight over the crate of bananas and the propellers, apparently they’re the best bits. However, they also have a LEGO DUPLO My First Deluxe Box of Fun and even at age one, they love just carrying the blocks around and smashing down towers built by their big sister. There’s plenty of blocks to go around, no arguments.

Play-Doh Kitchen Creations Ice Cream Party Play Food Set

My boys starting being able to use play doh molds at around 2.5yrs, and and their 9yr-old sister can’t resist but to play with it too! There are two of each cone and sundae dish and multiple colors of playdoh so this set is perfect for sharing.

Magna-Tiles 100 Piece Set

These magnet tiles are so much fun, parents won’t be able to resist getting involved! They are aimed at 2yrs+ but even at 18 months, my boys loved playing with them (even if they haven’t perfected their building skills yet). I’ve featured the bigger set to make sure there’s plenty to go round, but Magna-tile do a smaller set if you want to keep the budget down.

It’s worth mentioning that even my 9yr-old absolutely loves these, so if you’re looking for a toy that lasts years, this one is a win!

Jasonwell Aqua Water Doodle Mat

This one was picked by my nine-year-old. She thinks it is the perfect present for her twin brothers, and I’m sure the choice has nothing to do with the fact she is desperate to have a go herself. This is a nice big set for the money and comes with multiple pens so both Twins can doodle at the same time.

ToyerZ Wooden Jigsaw Puzzles

Wooden Jigsaw puzzle sets always make a good gift and this simple colorful puzzle set is beautiful! With four puzzles, the little ones can rotate and share with ease.

Classic Toy Dinos

My boys have this bucket of dinosaurs and honestly, it’s the best value for money! I bought it for their second birthday for them to share and at 3.5yrs they still play great together with it. It also goes great if you have a train set like the one below!

BRIO Cargo Railway Deluxe Set

I’ve always loved Brio because it’s timeless and lasts a lifetime. This Brio Starter Set keeps things simple for the younger ones and can be adding to as they grow. We love turning our railway into a Jurassic Park style Dino world with the little Dinos in the box shown above!

We also have some awesome personalized letter trains which we were given by the Twins auntie. I feature them in my post on personalized kids decor from Etsy… so many awesome gifts there, do check it out!

So there you have it…  unisex toys for twin toddlers, young siblings, or just about any kid that likes to have company! And in case you’re looking for some twin cuteness… here’s a short video of the boys hanging out in their tunnel!

  1. Yeessss!!! Building blocks, Duplo or MegaBlocks, and something to crawl and /or hide in were my life savers in those days! Crazy me, I’d watch my friend’s kids who were 2 months younget than my 2 or their cousins who were all boys under 5. We had lots of toys and the park was our best friend! They are great at sharing, but the youngest is the only little one around this time and has such a hard time with it. I almost wish I’d had 2 back to back again… almost.

  2. I can totally relate to the struggle, even though I don’t have twins! My son’s cousin is 3 weeks younger, and we’ve had terrible tantrums over the last year with them learning how to share. We’ve definitely found that things like the water table, or activity based things are great for this age, until they can learn to share better (which is happening now at 2.5 – hurrah!) 3. You are a genius! And I totally mean that! I’ve never really though of it before, but these sorts of toys are the ones that my girls play best together with. We bought them a dolls house for Christmas and they’ve loved it – they can both contribute and they interact with each other.

It also made me smile that you featured the fisherprice Rampway because I was very proud of myself for finding one of those in a charity shop for £4 for my daughter’s birthday last year! Bargain! #SharingTheBlogLove
